Official Catalan Language Exam

inlingua also offers preparatory classes for obtaining certificates of knowledge of Catalan. inlingua also offers preparation and exams levels A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

The official Catalan language exams consist of a written test and an oral test that allow an objective assessment of the degree of development of the skills established in each program. These exams assess the candidate’s listening, speaking, interaction, reading and writing skills.

The official Catalan language diplomas of the Government of Andorra have as a reference the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and are structured in six levels.

The six levels are :

Basic user diploma, level A1:

This diploma certifies use of general language to meet the most basic communication needs.

Basic user diploma, level A2:

This diploma certifies a command of general language – both spoken and written – to carry out basic communication activity associated with the most usual communication situations.

Independent user diploma, level B1:

This diploma certifies a command of general language – both spoken and written – to deal with most linguistic communication situations that can arise relating to subjects linked to work, school, family and leisure.

Independent user diploma, level B2:

Experienced user diploma, level C2:This diploma certifies a command of general language – both spoken and written – to deal with linguistic communication situations that can arise relating to both concrete and abstract subjects, including technical discussions in the speaker’s professional field.

Experienced user diploma, level C1:

This diploma certifies a command of general language – both spoken and written, in the standard variety – to communicate appropriately and accurately in communication situations that require use of fairly formal or informal language.

Experienced user diploma, level C2:

This diploma certifies a command of general language to communicate appropriately and accurately in any communication situation, especially in the most formal register of the language, and an ability to analyse concepts related to how the Catalan linguistic system works.
